How to Use Bluetooth to Connect Your Phone to Your Car

There are many great reasons to use Bluetooth to connect your phone to your car. For starters, it’s a great way to have a hands-free calling, which is safer and more legal in many states. Bluetooth can also be used to play music from your phone on your car’s stereo system, which is great for road trips or long commutes. And finally, some cars now offer features that can only be accessed via Bluetooth connection, like remote start and lock/unlock.

If you’re unsure how to use Bluetooth in your car, don’t worry! We’ve got you covered. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the process of connecting your phone to your car via Bluetooth, step by step.

Step One: Make Sure Your Phone and Car Are Compatible

Before you do anything else, you’ll need to check and ensure that your phone and car are compatible. Most newer phones and cars will be, but double-check is always best.

Step Two: Put Your Phone Into Discovery Mode

Once you’ve confirmed that your phone and car can connect via Bluetooth, the next step is putting your phone into discovery mode. This allows your car’s infotainment system to find and connect to your phone.

On an iPhone, you can do this by going into your Settings app and tapping on “Bluetooth.” Then, all you have to do is make sure that the switch next to “Bluetooth” is turned on. Once it is, your phone will automatically go into discovery mode and search for devices it can connect to.

For Android phones, the process is similar. Just go into your Settings app and look for the “Bluetooth” option (it might also be listed as “Wireless & networks”). Once you find it, tap on it and turn on the switch next to “Bluetooth.” Again, this will put your phone into discovery mode to search for devices to connect to.

Step Three: Pair Your Phone With Your Car

Now that your phone is in discovery mode, it’s time to pair it with your car. To do this, go into your car’s infotainment system and look for the “Bluetooth” menu (it might also be listed as “Phone” or something similar). Once you find it, select the option and wait for a list of available devices to appear—your phone should be one of them.

Select your phone from the list of available devices, and then enter the PIN code that appears on your car’s screen into your phone when prompted. If everything goes according to plan, at this point, you should hear a voice coming from your car saying something like “phone connected.” If so, congrats—you’ve successfully paired your phone with your car!
From here on out, whenever you get in your car and turn on the ignition, your phone should automatically connect to your car’s infotainment system via Bluetooth. And if it doesn’t for some reason, simply repeating steps two and three should do the trick.

Conclusion:

We hope this blog post has helped show you how easy it is to use Bluetooth to connect your phone to y our car!
